DOCTORS USE A CORPSE TO KILL McDONALD’S

Because we apparently don’t already know that McDonald’s and other fast food aren’t exactly wonderful for your health, a non-profit physicians’ group in Washington, D.C., has cooked up this ad that directly links McDonald’s to heart disease.

The spot, produced by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, features a corpse in the morgue holding on to what appears to be a half-eaten Big Mac. McDonald’s famous golden arches are then superimposed over an image of the dead man’s feet with the words “I was lovin’ it” replacing the McD’s “I’m lovin’ it” slogan.

“Our city’s addiction to Big Macs and other high-fat fast food is literally breaking our hearts,” says Susan Levin of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. “It’s time to tackle the district’s heart disease problem head-on. A moratorium on new fast-food restaurants could be a critically important step toward fighting this epidemic.”

The ad will air later this week during The Daily Show and during local news broadcasts in D.C. before rolling out to other markets.
