STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING II

By Harvey Tobkes

Last night Anita and I had a terrible spat about a stupid issue.

She wasn’t home and the dishwasher had a full load; I was running short of silverware, so I ran a wash.

She has told me in the past to please not to run the dishwasher. Why? I don’t know! Maybe she just feels that’s her domain.

When she came home and found I had done a wash she went ballistic and then I went nuclear. Ingratitude hurts but getting attacked for doing a favor is much worse.

I told Anita I’m not talking to her and I am e-mailing our daughter Julie to cancel my birthday dinner at the Greek Isles Restaurant.

This morning, on my 86th birthday, she gave me the sweetest birthday card (see below).

THE GOOD NEWS! We kissed and made up and we are going to my birthday dinner. YASOU! KALIMERA
