HURRICANE ERNESTO

Florida has been in a frenzy preparing for hurricane Ernesto. In all probability he will prove to be a wimp and fizzle into oblivion, but nevertheless, preparations go forward, and people are on line at stations filling cans with gasoline to run their generators and topping off the car’s tank, just in case of an evacuation order. I remain a huge skeptic on this one.

The following is a word for word “Hurricane Tip” from this morning’s Miami Herald:

ALERT — Elevators: WHAT IF THEY GO ON THE FRITZ?
If power goes out, your elevators, obviously, won’t be working. Use the stairs.
