A WAKE UP CALL
By Harvey Tobkes
The next time a U.S. president, our commander-in-chief, tells us we are going to war because we must protect our homeland, freedom, democracy, and he tells us we cannot afford to fail.
Let’s ask of him this question: Can we afford to succeed?
Let’s take Afghanistan for example:
· Average life expectancy is 44 years.
· Terrorist violence and attacks are up 34% this year.
· Some 2.8 million Afghans are refugees in their own country
· Unemployment is 40% and rising.
· The government is dysfunctional
Hopefully, Obama and McCain know all this and will never make the same mistakes.
