President Obama said “I’m here on television saying I screwed up.”
The president took responsibility for the biggest nomination failure so far, Tom Daschle’s withdrawal as Health and Human Services nominee, for bungling his taxes.
Mr. Obama said he hoped it sends a message.
President Obama said “there aren’t two sets of rules. You know, one for prominent people and one for ordinary folks who have to pay their taxes.”
