GOOD THINGS ABOUT JUNE
June is the only month that has a bug named after it. There’s no July bug or August bug.
It’s warm enough so you don’t need a coat, but it’s not so hot that you need air-conditioning.
The name is good to write because we don’t use any ugly, truncated abbreviations as we do for Feb., Sept. or Oct.
May and June are names used by women as a first name ” unless you count April. April is a name a press agent gives a young woman who wants to be an actress.
No one who doesn’t live there has to go to Florida this month.
You don’t have to rake leaves or shovel snow.
The summer solstice occurs June 21st. Almost every year I look up the word “solstice” and I’m still not clear about it. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the shortest night. To me all solstice means is, it’s easier to get up in the morning because it’s light out.
