FINANCIAL ARMAGEDDON
By Harvey Tobkes
Self-righteous people sometimes complain and say…it’s not the money, it’s the principle of the thing. I say that’s baloney…it’s always about the money. Heath Care Reform is a wonderful umbrella for Americans, especially for those facing hard times; I only wish we could afford it. But as the chart below cruelly shows…we cannot. At one of the weakest periods in our financial solvency, House Democrats are pushing for the passage of a landmark $940 billion health care overhaul bill.
What makes matters even more scary, the chart dates back to 2008, and we all know after Obama’s recent “Bail-Outs,” “Hand-Outs and Strikeouts,” the current figures would be substantially worse. Latest estimates for the ratio of Gross Domestic Product compared to Debt is expected to worsen to 94% at the end of this year.
