WHAT DO YOU DO EVERY DAY?
Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.
Well for example, the other day we went for a ride up to Palm Beach, and walked along Worth Avenue gazing into shop windows. Strolling and gazing, until we came to a children’s gift store and we went inside to check if there might be something we wanted to buy for our grandchildren. We were in there for about 10 minutes.
When we came out there was a cop writing a parking ticket.
I went up to him and said, “Come on Officer, how about giving a senior citizen a break?”
He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.
I called him a “mean bastard.”
He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.
He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the First.
Personally, I didn’t care. Our car was parked on Ocean Drive, about a mile away.
I try to have a little fun each day now that I’m retired.
It’s important at my age.
