A PRIMITIVE BUT AMAZING BRIDGE IN PERU
The amazing bridge was part of the Inca pathways enabling the transmission of messages throughout the vast Inca empire by runners. Today the annual bridge replacement takes three days and is performed to preserve the memory of the Peruvian forebears that constructed the first bridge many centuries ago. I have seen bridges like this before but have never walked across one and I’m sure you’d have to have a lot of trust in the construction to make the crossing.
