TRYING TO MAKE THE “MOST OF IT”
At age 94 most of it…is behind me, but no matter, I try, every day, in my own way, to make the most of whatever is ahead of me.
Today, I hit a home run…to celebrate my birthday, I was treated to lunch at home by my son & daughter-in-law. It was a bright, sunny day and we were seated out on our terrace overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and the Diplomat Boat Dock. I started with a spicy Bloody Mary, mixed by wife Anita, she knows all the stuff I like added. Now here was the pièce de résistance, which I did not yet mention…lunch was a stone crab dinner for 4 from Joe’s Stone Crab (take-out) Restaurant in Miami. Of course, there were side dishes of cole slaw, hash-browns and creamed spinach, and to top it all off a huge key lime pie for dessert. It was the kind of meal you would want if you were scheduled for the electric chair the next day. For me, tomorrow I don’t die, I diet but today….ahhhh!
Thank you Betty and Scott..that was a helluva birthday. You guys helped me in making the most of it today and now I’m thinking what I am going to do tomorrow.
