ONE BIG DIFFERENCE AND ONE SMALL SIMILARITY ~ TRUMP vs BIDEN COMPARED TO TRUMAN vs DEWEY

By Harvey Tobkes

The big difference is Truman was so far behind in the vote count compared to republican governor of N.Y., Thomas Dewey, that the exalted and highly respected New York Times felt justified in scooping the competition with a headline that proved to be premature and dead wrong.*

As it turned out, Truman was declared the winner, the date was Nov. 13, 1948. Harry S. Truman took the presidency and in many ways became one of the best ever. Trump is toast, he cannot win! He can be a gracious loser, but any chance of that is even less than his chance of winning.

The trivial similarity is the first 4 letters of their surnames contain the letters T-R-U-M.

*Probably that’s why you’re not seeing any hews headlines announcing a winner; all the media are being cautious because of an egregious error made 72 years ago.

Harry S. Truman
